Cook until the scallions are soft but not brown, about five minutes. Add the thyme and garlic. Cook for about two minutes. Add the white wine to the pan and heat until the mixture begins to boil. Simmer until most of the wine has evaporated, about 5-10 minutes. Add two cups of chicken broth, the reserved porcini liquid, and salt. Bring to a rapid boil until the mixture has reduced by at least half, about 30 minutes. During this time, bring a pot of salted water to a boil. When the sauce is finished cooking, cook the pasta according to the package directions until al dente. To finish the sauce, add the Parmesan cheese and butter. Season with salt and pepper.
